Sunday.
How do you think about it?
How do you receive it?
Upon honest reflection, has Sunday been a rather ordinary day for you, or a mop up day to address what did not get done at home throughout the week? Is it a day to get caught up on work, or jump start the next week? Is it a day centered around homework or sporting activities? Mass might fit in somewhere as an obligation, but is the rest of the day about getting stuff done, not that different from any other day? Maybe Sunday has become a day of loneliness, boredom, or even a day of dread thinking of what is ahead for the week?
OR….
Is Sunday a special, astonishing day…a day to enter differently, ponder over and rejoice in the fact that over 2000 years ago, time exploded with the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ? With the incredible Easter event came new understanding, new possibility, in fact new life gifted to humanity. Commemorated not just once a year but every seven days, Sunday returns weekly as special time to renew and delight in God’s relationship of love with us.
It is hoped the testimonies, stories, and resources here might serve to alight greater interest or perhaps new awareness altogether for receiving the gift of Sunday and to live it more intentionally as The Lord’s Day.
